Molson Coors: ‘a responsibility to support pubs’

Beer distributor and brewer Molson Coors has promised to uphold its support to help save the 'Great' British pub after launching a new campaign last week.

In this exclusive video, the beer behemoth’s on-trade sales director Martyn Cozens delves into the tactics that will be mobilised in the Putting the ‘Great’ back into Great British Pubs and Clubs campaign.

The initiative will see Molson Coors roll out various business support tools to pubs in need of help, as well as cash injections through its Carling brand to support other community venues.

Cozens recognised how tough the trade currently is and said: “The campaign is important because pubs are a unique and really important part of British society, particularly the role they play in their communities."

‘Fight for their share’

He continued: “Like all businesses, [trade] is increasingly competitive and publicans have to fight for their share of that leisure pound because there are so many opportunities for people to spend their income on these days.”

It was the responsibility of major brewers such as Molson Coors to support publicans and their businesses to help them thrive, he added.

Watch this video to find out exactly what opportunities the brewer will be making available to the on-trade throughout the year and to find out why Cozens believes operators need this help in particular.

Cozens added: “We have developed our Great British Pubs and Clubs campaign to offer support to publicans up and down the UK and help them deliver great experiences for their customers to keep them coming back time after time.”
