All Bar One selects Aspall

All Bar One has made Aspall its house bottled cider brand. Aspall will run a

training programme to introduce the

brand and a perfect serve - chilled, but not over ice. All Bar One brand manager at Mitchells & Butlers James Bolton said "Aspall has impeccable cider credentials and we think it is the right brand to help us capitalise on the revitalised cider category." Aspall

was listed by M&B-owned Browns in the summer.

Goats roam into on-trade

The Goats Do Roam range of wines, produced by Fairview of South Africa, are to get an on-trade launch through a

distribution deal with Liberty Wines. Liberty has been handling the Fairview range in the on-trade for the past two years. The Goats Do Roam range also includes wines under the names Goats Do Roam in Villages, Goat Roti, Goat Door, Bored Doe and The Goatfather.

Vin de Pays wines arrive

Burgundy producer Patriarche Père & Fils is launching a range of Vin de Pays wines in the UK. The eight single varietal wines were developed in conjunction with UK distributor Patriarche Wine Agencies, and are being targeted at the on-trade. The range comprises Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Pinot Noir Rosé, all sourced in Languedoc and bottled in Beaune.

Framingham unveils UK red

New Zealand's Framingham Wines claims to be the first producer from the country to launch a single varietal made from the Italian grape Montepulciano in the UK. The company's English winemaker Andrew Hedley said: "Although we're probably best known for our aromatic whites, I'm keen to exploit the potential for the Marlborough terroir to produce intense, concentrated reds. Provided the yields are kept low, it produces outstanding rich and spicy wines with good colour." The wine is expected to have a UK retail price in the region of £14.99.
