Tom Etridge buys back The Ebury in Pimlico

Entrepreneur Tom Etridge has bought back the leasehold interest of the Ebury in London's Pimlico, nearly four and a half years after he sold the gastropub to the First Restaurant Group (FRG).

The Ebury was part of a three-strong estate of gastropubs, which also included the Waterway in Maida Vale, and the Running Horse in Mayfair, that FRG, the company co-owned and founded by Carlo Spetale and Harold Tillman, acquired from Etridge at the end of 2006, in a deal reportedly worth close to £3m.

The Morning Advertiser​ understands that Etridge is looking for further acquisitions as he looks to grow another portfolio of high-quality, food-led operations. FRG, which is run by Tillman's son Mitchell, currently operates nine other restaurants and bars in the capital, including two under the Harry Morgan's brand and the Notting Hill Brasserie.

It also operates two Harry Morgan's in Latvia, with a third site due to open in the country soon. The first site under the brand is also set to launch in Istanbul.
