The Mossy Well, London
Don’t be afraid to innovate
This JD Wetherspoon pub was part tea room, part milk depot until the 1980s. This unique history has been embraced by the pub’s architects, KD Paine & Associates.
The front of the pub is sleek and impressive, but doesn’t look particularly different to most JD Wetherspoon pubs.
Look around inside though and you will see that the pub has retained some key parts of the venue’s time as a milk depot to make it a unique offering. The sheet metal ceiling is interspersed with skylights to let in plenty of natural light and give the pub the look of a milk depot in certain areas. There’s even a bar in a milk cart in the rear garden.
