The pubs have been judged and the deserving winners given their awards, but just in case you missed the action – or fancy reliving it – here's a rundown of the event in tweets.

More than 20 awards were dished out at the John Smith's Great British Pub Awards in London on 6 September, including the overall accolade of Great British Pub of the Year.

This year the top spot went to Wine Pub of the Year the Red Lion & Sun in Highgate, north London. Licensee Heath Ball described his pub as "the kind that many people would wish to have on their doorstep".
