Coverage of the 2019 Great British Pub Awards was broadcast on:
BBC Three Counties
102 Touch FM
Coverage of the awards was across 19 radio stations and one television station, totalling more than two hours’ worth of broadcasting.
This year’s glittering ceremony was held at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel, near Hyde Park, where Hugh Dennis hosted the event.
The Cott Inn, near Dartington, Devon, took the title of Greene King Pub of the Year before beating off stiff competition from 16 fellow category winners to be crowned the Great British Pub of the Year.
Licensee of the Cott Inn, Mark Annear, was just one of the voices heard on the radio as well as The Morning Advertiser editor Ed Bedington, who was also featured on BBC London in a television interview.
This was filmed at the winner of the Best Local category, the Chandos Arms in Colindale, north London.
Bedington said: “The winners and finalists from this year’s awards were outstanding and we wanted to do all we could to get their names out there to tell everyone how incredible they are.
“Pubs play an important role in the community and wider society, and the Great British Pub Awards aim to recognise and reward that. It’s fantastic that we’ve been able spread that word even further with the fantastic coverage all our winners have received across the UK.”
