Brakspear, the Henley-on-Thames-based pub operator, has named David Nathan as its new chief financial officer.

Nathan joins the group from business services provider Casper Group, where he was group finance director.

His appointment comes as part of the restructuring of Brakspear's senior management team which was announced in April.

The group's chief executive Don Bridgman, who had overseen the group's financial side in recent months, is to retire in September, with Tom Davies, Brakspear's current commercial director, set to take over the reins.

Davies said: "We're delighted to have David on board. Although new to our industry, he has already demonstrated a clear grasp of the issues and challenges we face.

"We're confident David will make a valuable contribution to our business and will help our talented and hard-working tenants to run thriving, successful pubs."

Brakspear owns and operates 145 tenanted pubs across the South East. While it still owns several famous beer brands, including Oxford Gold, the beers themselves are produced by Wychwood Brewery, now part of the Marston's brewing empire.
