Pub openings
Poyntz Arms, Surrey
The new look Poyntz Arms in East Molesey, Surrey, opened on 29 September after a £150,000 refurbishment.
Michael and Frances O’Reilly and their son Corey took over the Shepherd Neame pub in April this year. Since then, the family have undertaken a joint renovation project with the brewery.
Work included redesigning and fully refurbishing the bar area, including installing a copper brewing kettle from which the pub’s range of beers are dispensed.
The pub has a new glass lobby entrance, flooring, furniture and lighting.
The garden has been landscaped, with new lighting and furniture added, including a covered pergola featuring outdoor heaters for smokers, and the pub exterior has been repainted.
The kitchen has also been refitted, with food at the pub on offer for the first time, including a smokehouse barbecue and grill menu.
