Licensee Michael O’Reilly said: “We were delighted at the number of people who came out to celebrate with us at the launch. The pub has been going from strength to strength since the makeover, with our new food offer proving really popular. We would like to thank all our customers for their fantastic support.”
Shepherd Neame chief executive Jonathan Neame attended the launch, and to mark the occasion presented a cheque for £500 to Carer Support Elmbridge.
Jonathan Neame said: “We were delighted to invest in the Poyntz Arms, as it is a fantastic pub in a great location. Michael and his family have an excellent team, and we are confident that they can continue to build on the pub’s success.”
Local residents were invited to the official opening, with the first pint pulled by the mayor of Elmbridge, cllr Jan Fuller.
