Making sour dough
If you’re putting the effort in to make dough from scratch, then for a little extra time you can create a pizza base that’s extra special by using sour dough.
Follow the recipe:
Ingredients:
- 300ml sourdough starter
- 250ml warm water
- 500g of good quality white flour
- Pinch of salt
Method:
- Add the ingredients to a mixing bowl and mix into a rough dough
- Knead until it’s smooth, stretchy and soft.
- Rest in the bowl and cover for half an hour
- Divide the dough into seven 150g pieces for individual pizzas
- Roll them into balls
- Cover and rest for a few minutes
- Roll the balls out into discs one at a time – throw them in the air if you feel confident
- Top with your toppings (see the rest of the gallery)
- Cook depending on your oven type
