The Publican Awards finalists have been revealed as the spotlight is turned on some of the best operations in the business.

Leading businesses from across the sector have been announced as finalists across 11 categories, ranging from Best Employer to Best Food Offer.

Ed Bedington, editor of The Morning Advertiser, which organises the awards, said: “While the awards are certainly going to be different in 2021, following a year of almost total shutdown, the aim remains the same to celebrate some of the excellent work that operators have been doing despite the challenges.

“Ours is a sector that has been battered long and hard by the storm of the crisis, with limited support that continues to tail off. Yet despite that, we’ve seen some fantastic responses from operators across the trade, and these awards, as ever, aim to recognise that excellence, as well as shining a light on how our sector continues to push onwards, despite the difficulties it faces.”

After a first round of judging, judges conducted virtual head office visits to assess the finalists before the competition moved to its final stage, a series of panel style interviews.

Bedington added: “I’d like to wish all our finalists the best of luck with these awards, it’s been inspiring to see some of the entries this year, despite everything, and I look forward to celebrating your successes down the line."

The awards are sponsored by Britvic, CPL Learning, Budweiser Brewing Group, Molson Coors Beverage Company, Heineken UK, HGEM, Coca-Cola European Partners, Poppleston Allen and Sky.
